• National Identity Number (NIN): A mandatory requirement for all adult applicants applying from inside Nepal.

1. Access the Official Portal & Register: Step 1.

Go to the official website of the Department of Passports and click on Apply for ePassport and click on apply for ePassport.

 Click on Register an Account to keep track of your application history, save drafts, or manage your bookings. Enter your basic details (Name, DOB, NIN, Email, and Phone number) to log in.

Now login with  your email and password you created. Login window will displayed automatically after registration.

Choose your enrollment location by specifying your country, province, district, and office. Review the interactive calendar, choose an available date, and pick a preferred time slot (AM/PM). Then click on next button.

Enter your contact number and review your booking date and time. Then click on Next Button.

After hitting the next button your session starts. You will get 25 minutes for applying your online application. If delayed page will not accept your online application.

4. Fill Out Demographic Data: Step 4.

Carefully enter your Personal Details, Citizenship Details, and Parental Information exactly as they appear on your legal documents.

Proceed to fill out your Contact Information 

Fill up your  Residential Address.

Important Things to Remember

Non-Refundable Policy: Once government revenue is deposited, it cannot be refunded or transferred under any circumstances. Verify applicant details before entering your transaction PIN.

 

Voucher Requirement: You must present the printed paid voucher alongside original citizenship/supporting documents at the biometrics enrollment counter.

After filling out the personal demographic data and booking an appointment date, the system displays the Application Submitted confirmation screen. Click on Proceed to payment instead of exiting.

A popup notification will prompt: “Non-refundable. Verify name, amount, and reference number before paying.” Double-check your name, application category, and amount, then click OK to open the payment gateway.

The payment dashboard will generate a dynamic Payment Voucher displaying:

Open your mobile banking app or digital wallet, tap Scan to Pay / QR Pay, and scan the QR code directly from your screen.
